John W. Greenfield

John Greenfield is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer in Construction every year the list has been published. He received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University. After serving four years in the United States Marine Corps, he attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was tied for first in his class academically and was a member of the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review. He received his J.D. cum laude in 1973, and has practiced law in Atlanta, Georgia since that time. He is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate courts in Georgia, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fifth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Greenfield is general counsel to the Consulting Engineers Council of Georgia. He has served as Chairman of the Litigation Section and Chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association. His articles have appeared in professional publications including the Architectural Record. He has spoken to numerous groups in the construction industry concerning legal issues.

Mr. Greenfield concentrates his practice in construction litigation and arbitration, and counseling members of the construction industry.

William L. Bost Jr.*

Mr. Bost received his A.B. degree from the University of North Carolina in 1970, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. with distinction in 1973 from Emory University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Delta Phi, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Emory Law Journal. Mr. Bost is admitted to practice before all trial courts of the State of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fifth Circuits. He is a member of the litigation section of the American and Atlanta Bar Associations. Mr. Bost served as Editor-in-Chief of the Georgia State Bar Journal from 1991 through 1993.

Mr. Bost was an assistant professor of law at the University of Arkansas Law School at Fayetteville. His teaching specialties were Civil Procedure, Evidence, and Torts (including professional negligence). Mr. Bost has handled cases involving intersection construction and intellectual property issues relating to design plans. He has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer in General Litigation.

Mr. Bost litigates in state and federal court.

*Mr. Bost is not a full time member of the Team. Because of his expertise in Procedure, Evidence, and Torts, we draft him for difficult evidence and procedural issues and for cases in his areas of expertise. For example, he has handled a wrongful death case involving intersection construction and cases involving disputes over copyright and trademark related to construction design plans.

Michael W. Lord

Mr. Lord is a 1980 graduate of the University of North Carolina (B.A., with honors, Morehead Scholar) and a 1983 graduate of the University of Georgia Law School (J.D., cum laude). He has been admitted to practice in the Georgia and Louisiana Bar Associations. He has practiced law in Georgia since 1984 with an emphasis in the areas of construction litigation, in a broad range of construction disputes, from contract negotiation, problem identification, avoidance and resolution through all stages of litigation. Mr. Lord has represented owner, contractor and design professionals in death, personal injury, property damage and delay litigation on a wide variety of projects including the Georgia Dome, public and private schools, waste water treatment plants, segmental walls, bridges and highways, commercial and residential developments, roof collapses, residences, and others.

Patrick M. Phillips

Mr. Phillips is a 1998 graduate of Oklahoma City University School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude). He was an editor of the Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree from Jacksonville State University and received a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Alabama. He is published in the Law Review of Oklahoma City University School of Law. Mr. Phillips litigates in all state and federal courts. Mr. Phillips has handled a number of disputes involving industrial, commercial and residential construction, including disputes over the functionality of a one-of-a-kind solid waste recycling/recovery facility; various construction and delay issues on school projects; construction and delay issues on jail projects; adequacy of retaining wall construction; pile supported concrete slab system for commercial and retail use on a reclaimed waterfront project in Brooklyn, New York; construction issues arising from various types of industrial, commercial, and residential roofs; among other issues.

William L. Bost III

Mr. Bost received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina in 1997. He received his J.D. in 2001 from the Emory University School of Law, and has practiced law at Greenfield, Bost & Kliros since that time. Mr. Bost’s practice has been almost entirely in construction litigation. He has worked on cases involving property damage, delay, personal injury, and death. He has worked on cases involving water infiltration, commercial HVAC support design, hospital design and construction, aquarium design and construction, construction of an intersection (including traffic signal designs), design and construction of river intake and raw water pump stations, and others. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association.

Heather L. Morrison

Ms. Morrison received her Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University in August, 1995. She received her paralegal certificate from The National Center for Paralegal Training (NCPT) in September, 1996, and has been a paralegal in Georgia since that time. In 2006, Ms. Morrison passed the Certified Paralegal exam given by the National Association of Legal Assistants. She is an active member of the National Association of Legal Assistants and is also a paralegal education advisor for Estrin Legal-Ed. Ms. Morrison has been a litigation paralegal for 13 years. She has been a member of the Construction Litigation Team since 2002 and worked on cases such as a $69M claim arising out of the design, construction, and financing of a solid waste recycling facility and a $11M claim arising out of the design and construction of a Home Depot store.
